General Information

REGISTERING IN ADVANCE
Watching a good activity die is painful. There is a point when, if there are not enough registrants, an activity is canceled. Signing up on the day of the activity will not resurrect it! Please register at least seven days prior to the beginning of the activity.

 Cancellation, Transfer, Refund Policies

Full refunds or class transfers, (excluding $5 non-refundable registration fee), will be granted if the request is made five (5) business days prior to the first class meeting. NO REFUNDS will be issued after this time.
In the event of a medical emergency and/or participant illness arises mid-session, a prorated refund may be issued, provided one-third of the program has not expired and the refund request is accompanied with a written statement from a medical physician.
If an individual misses a program/class there are no refunds.
Please allow at least two (2) weeks to receive your
refund check- there are no cash refunds.
The SHRC reserves the right to cancel a class if the program minimum has not been met 48 hours prior to the first class meeting.Cancellation fees will not be charged and class fees will be refunded.
Pictures of participants may be taken during classes for promotional purposes.

• Field Use Policies
Field use policies and usage request forms may be completed at the Recreation Commission Office only.

Teams need to have a permit on hand when not associated with a Recreation league.

• Seasonal Activity Guide
This publication is mailed free of charge twice annually to residents who live in the Spring Hill School district to inform the community of organized recreation opportunities. If you are currently not receiving this service please contact our office at 592-2214 or visit our website at www.springhillrec.org

• Scholarship Program
The SHRC offers scholarships for various programs and leagues to those in need in our community. Our philosophy is that everyone should have the opportunity to play regardless of their ability to pay. It is through this fund that we provide these scholarships, and the only way we can do this is through the support of the community. Your contribution will provide an opportunity for someone who otherwise wouldn’t be able to participate. The scholarship form must be completed and turned in prior to the programs registration deadline. All requests are kept confidential.

• Sponsorship Opportunities
In a recent Community Attitude and Interest Survey, it was indicated that 67% of current residents are under age 45. The average growth of school district enrollment has been 4% over the past five years. With Spring Hill’s current growth and demographics, now is the time to get involved with your local Recreation Commission. Sponsorship Opportunities include; team, sign, special event/program, Special Olympic Team-Spring Hill Sharks and Scholarship. If you are interested in possible sponsorship please contact the Program Supervisor

• SHRC Hotline
Before you venture outside for a game or program a “hotline”

(913) 643-3123 is maintained to keep you informed regarding the weather and/or cancellations.
